Francois-Xavier Lelanne, one half of the Les Lalanne duo, began his exhibiting career in Montparnasse, France showcasing his paintings in 1952. It was at this first gallery show that Francois met his would-be wife and partner, Claude, and embarked on his career in sculpting surrealist depictions of flora and fauna.
